Clare Winfield

Clare Winfield is the business head of Leblas, with 15 years experience in buying and merchandising. Her last seven years working for a successful TV shopping channel allowed her to experience the challenges and pleasures of working with jewellery. Clare has travelled extensively during her career sourcing products and was keen to start a company that took into account working conditions and impact on the environment.

The jewellery craftsmen

Our artisans have lived and worked in a small Spanish town in the Eastern part of Spain along the Via de La Plata, their entire lives. They are specialised filigree artisans and have learnt their craft from their fathers and their fathers before them. Each piece of Leblas filigree and hand-made chain jewellery is personally made by them. It has taken generations to gain this experience and we hope to find and support a young jeweller to train and pass these skills onto the next generation.

We also work with Javi, a trained and highly experienced jeweller who works in an intimate workshop in Madrid. The workshop is part of a shared co-operative that allows trained jewellers to run small business as they share workspace and tools. Javi trained at the Madrid Centre of Jewellery Studies with Arabel over 10 years ago and ensure all of Leblas jewellery is polished and finished to the highest standards and also undertakes the delicate task of stone setting.
